My internships for Communications Quarterly Magazine really reignited my spark for writing- something that I have carried with me all my life, but never considered I could bring it into my career until this experience. While most students only take one internship course for their requirements to graduate, I took three courses with the magazine and added to my workload because I enjoyed the writing so much! My writing explored different themes of the magazine such as imagination, voice, and life.

My Bachelor's degree is something I am particularly proud of- it took many years of hard work! I studied at Northern Illinois University before finding National Louis University as a place that I could work full time while taking classes. It was challenging to take on this workload, but I was determined and persistent to earn my degree. Studying in a field that I am genuinely interested in, however, made it all worth it. Walking across the stage was so much sweeter knowing how much work I had put into it all!

Although the pandemic affected my college courses while earning my Associates, I did not let that stop me. I worked through those online classes day by day, even filming a dance final in home! During this time, I took a variety of creative classes, ranging from ceramics to creative writing.
